Lockdown Sessions For Bob

by Girl From Winter Jargon

supported by
Alex Bennison
Alex Bennison thumbnail
Alex Bennison Soothing and ethereal sounds that are littered and juxtaposed with punchy, startling guitar hooks and vivacious, forceful vocals. This all creates a soundscape that is best described as anxious waves crashing upon jagged rocks. But we must remember that waves are just so.
They come, and they will go.
This little session is balm for all of us, as we watch the storm outside unfold.

Favorite track: At The Bridge - (Live Lockdown Session).

1.
You might berate me, if I tell you what's been on my mind lately. The way we are might never be the same again. You won't be able to look at me directly, and I'm so scared that you might reject me. And I don't blame you if you do. I promise I am not impure. I just think that you are wonderful. I want to name all the inanimate objects in your life. I want you forever where I can see you. I want to name all the inanimate objects in your life. And I don't blame you if you do. And I don't blame you if you never want to see me again.
2.
You go about your day in life, you don't feel like being polite, to well meaning people, dispensing unhelpful advice. But you must cover up with kindness. Throw a cover over. How you long to slip away unoticed. Feeling so drained by the process. And no one has to contend with the thoughts inside your head, when you live for days without light, drawn out only by the faint flickering. And when you find yourself, you're weak; maladjusted. Your eyes are sore. And no one understands what you've done with your time, or what your absence was for. They'll take it as disinterest. You're well aware of your inconsistency. When plagued by indecision - they won't take you seriously. You cannot explain yourself. You'll have to start all over. How you long to slip away unnoticed. Feeling so drained by the process. The light is rarely on, but when it's on, you're gonna know about it. The light is rarely on, but when it's on you'll be high and never grounded. The light is rarely on, bit when it's on, you're gonna hear about it. And when I overcompensate, you'll wonder how you lived without it.
3.
I will bite the finger that you point in my direction, when you 'fence' the air at my tearful complexion. I will drench the cheek on which you laid your lip upon; cleanse the cheek that was touched by your treacherous scum. I won't be belittled by your condescending reign. You are not my God; thou shalt not hinder nor restrain. Transfix on my wrist, no longer looking at the vein. I will tolerate you, in spite of all the pain. Cause you are poison. You are unclean. Do not touch me. Do not touch me please. You might watch me from behind; the other side of the room. You think that I'm the sullen one, obsessed with my own gloom? When three fingers point back at you, see that it's you who's doomed. I'm at the bridge as I'm writing this. Can you see the water running? You did it on purpose. You did it deliberately. You don't want an explanation. You just want to scrutinise. You don't want justification. You just want to criticise me.
